How do we use data and AI in a way where ethic values enhance innovation rather than slow it down?
New digital technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and technologies based on data are emerging and have the potential to create valuable solutions – especially in the health sector. However, ethical issues and dilemmas may occur in the development, innovation, and implementation process because it is difficult to fully understand the implications of the technologies.
This calls for ethical considerations and requirements. We need to be able to trust the solutions based on these technologies, but how do we avoid that ethic requirements slow down innovation? How can we facilitate exploration and use of the data-based technologies in a quest for new solutions that create value for patients as well as for society?
This is the main topic for a debate on Digital Tech Summit arranged by ATV.
The session presents examples from the health sector where ethics is handled as an integrated element. Furthermore, we dive into how technological development and innovation can be a user-involving process and discuss how we can strengthen a knowledge eco-system where ethics is an integrated factor focusing on possibilities.
The Danish Health sector is a strong and research-based sector which contributes to Denmark’s wealth and growth, and we would like to secure that ethic requirements are handled in a way not slowing innovation down but enhancing it. Denmark should be recognized as a leading Life Science region that is able to foster relevant solutions for citizens and patients while meeting high ethical standards.
